If you are stressed and depressed it will affect everyone around you, so use external resources to help you find your inner abilities to take control of your stress. You have to gain control of stress.
A warm, NOT HOT, drink can soothe and calm your inner core.
So can a spot of soft music.
I go in for some of the native American flute music as that's what I grew up with. For Euro-mericans I suggest the classics played with either string instruments, or by symphonies, especially "The Most Relaxing Classical Music in the Universe."
There is also the sound of a waterfall, the lapping waves of the ocean, the chatter of birds, and once I taped the sounds of chickens feeding. One or more of these are sure to calm your nerves a bit. I also created this bit of music to help me settle down.

Any sounds that soothe you can be taped. Perhaps you love to hear the sound of a baby cooing, or the wind blowing, or going down the highway, swimmers splashing. The important thing is that YOU like it because it soothes you.
One of the ways I use my recordings is to put them on a CD, put the earbuds in my ears and lean back to enjoy the repast. In bed I'll put a wedge under my knees to relieve the tension on my back muscles, and put a soft, round pillow under each elbow. Relaxed? Oh yes, let me tell you I'm relaxed. Very seldom do I stay awake for more than five minutes. Occasionally I also use Church hymns like this. Just thinking about it will put me in hammock mode.
In a pinch you can IMAGINE these sounds and situations just by looking at a picture, but very few people won't prefer to hear the actual sounds -- in real life, on a tape, or on a CD.
We will always have some stress in our lives. Every day, stress and depression is taking over someoneís health. What you and I need to learn and realize is that some stress can be good for us -- but too much is always harmful. We have control over some stress, yet in some instances we have no control over the situation at all.
The world is moving these days at such a fast pace there doesnít seem as we have enough time in a day for us. To keep in control we have to move with it and learn how to cope with the everyday problems as they change. A guided relaxation program is a good place to begin with, keeping up with all the new challenges.

When all else fails, consult the professionals who can guide and help you through this state of mind labeled depression.

If a person feels tensed, it causes the blood sugar levels to rise and fall down and can even cause weights loss.
Relaxation brings us many rewards. Learning to cope with everyday activities that are happening each day is important for all of us.
Stress and depression has led to people hurting themselves so badly that sometimes hospitalization is required. Boldly speaking, EXERCISE, brisk and focused, can often work out some of the office kinks. My smallest daughter (of 6) hangs a full length punching bag outside on the porch to work off her steam.
It is packed so solid that the unwary visitor can harm their wrists by striking it too hard. She has taken down several men more than twice her size with a single punch, so we're not talking a pitiful pecking workout here; she hits that thing so hard it will knock her husband down while trying to hold it still for her. After 30 minutes or so she is ready for a hot shower. Until then, her family leaves her alone so she can work out all her stress and frustration.
Taking care of yourself physically will always make a healthier you as well as keeping your family happy too. Walking from 2 - 3 miles per day and gentle ball-room dancing keeps me fit as a fiddle at the pleasant old age of 70. I'm glad to say there isn't a worry wrinkle on my body anywhere.
